A great way to save on groceries is to truly nail down what you’re going to eat each week. Knowing before you go shopping helps you avoid wasted produce, leftovers that go uneaten, trips through fast food because you don’t have a meal, etc. Plus you can plan your meals around what’s on sale that week for even more savings.
I must admit that I’ve skipped this part of the savvy grocery shopping tips until recently, but the past few weeks I’ve been trying to plan out dinners at a minimum.
There aren’t fabulous deals this week at the grocery stores, but I am stocking up on pork from Safeway at $1.29/lb and fruit snacks. Most of my groceries though were simply based off my weekly menu.
This week’s dinners include:
Saturday – Tilapia Picata with Rice and Zucchini Fries
Sunday – BBQ chicken legs with Orzo and Broccoli
Monday – Pork chops with Cilantro Carrots and Pasta Roni side
Tuesday – Grilled chicken on salad greens
Wednesday – Chicken Fajitas
Thursday – Leftovers or frozen pizza
Friday – My husband’s birthday (probably eat out)
Saturday – St. Patty’s Day parties (eat there)
