Organizing Coupons

I was excited to exchange some comments on Facebook with Laura – a reader who’s getting into couponing and wanted to share how I store my coupons once I’ve purchased the newspapers.  If you are curious about couponing, but don’t know where to start – check out this Beginner’s Guide).

This is my first vlog ever, so please forgive the background noise (kids) and other mistakes of a newbie.
Lynn at Maven of Savin mentioned this option for organizing your coupon inserts during a facebook chat about a year ago and I have really liked it.  It saves a ton of time because you don’t have to clip anything until you are ready to go to the store and the coupons you want are easy to find.

Here’s what you have when you are done doing the steps outlined in the first video.

Once I have all the individual inserts compiled into one big insert, I store them in a file folder – here’s a pic:

If this doesn’t seem like it will work for you, or you want some more options, Lynn  has a few other methods for coupon organizing mentioned in this post, so if you want some more details or a different way to think about it, go check it out!

Ok, I feel silly for clipping everything Sunday night :) Love this! And great first video!

Don’t feel silly! I clipped a ton at first too and I still miss out on some “deals” because I don’t clip everything and bring them with me every time I shop. But the time savings to do it this way is well worth it to me. Makes it much less time consuming (I think anyway). And thanks on the video comment! Ack, I was nervous :)
