If you don’t have a twitter account, then it’s highly unlikely you’ve heard of Klout. And perhaps you’re like me and thought twitter was silly – I mean, how much good information could possibly be conveyed with only 140 characters?
Well, after just passing my 1 year twitter anniversary, I can honestly say that twitter has an AMAZING amount of information exchanged every minute. It is a fabulous way to keep up on current events, to connect with people with similar interests, to learn about local activities, and definitely to learn about sales, deals, coupons and freebies.
If that doesn’t convince you, then hang on while I tell you about Klout.
If you are on twitter, then I recommend you sign up with Klout. If you are a blogger, your Klout score is becoming more and more interesting to brands when they are deciding to work with you or not. What does that mean? Money and opportunity.
But the most tangible and immediate reward of signing up with Klout is the Klout Perks. I have been on Klout for maybe a month. In that time I have received:
A Year’s Supply (4 bottles) of Secret Deodorant.
I was always turned off by the idea of Clinical Strength deodorant. For some reason I thought it would be institutionally scented and sticky. I don’t know what an institution scent would be – maybe bleach? But I was very surprised by the scent. It is fabulous! And my all time new favorite. Oh, and it’s not sticky either – barely feel it when I put it on.
A variety pack of Metromint flavored water.
Metromint comes in a variety of flavors – chocolate mint, berry mint, orange mint and more. I personally did not like the mint flavors, enough that I didn’t think anyone would like them. But I had a group of ladies over for Bunco one night and put these out as an option and two of the women LOVED them. Enough that they asked where they could get more (I saw some in King Soopers if you’re wondering).
An invitation to view the new Winnie the Pooh movie.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it to the movie when they were playing it – but a FREE movie and I could bring my kiddos? Considering they are upwards of $7 to $9 a ticket – that’s a huge gift!
A $50 Gift Certificate to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Just yesterday I received my $50 gift certificate to Dick’s Sporting Goods. Thank goodness for Maria @ToughCookieMom for letting me know about this perk! $50 right before school starts and all the fall sports with all their requisite cleats, etc? Heck yes, this gift certificate will be appreciated!
A $10 Gift Certificate to Plum District.
I haven’t used this one yet, so am not certain what I’ll buy. But the best part about this perk is that I can share it with my readers! I have 5 $10 Gift Certificates to Plum District reserved and they will be used on a first come, first serve basis – so hurry on over. If they are all used up, then I’m sure there will be other opportunities for me to share. Just like I was able to share the Secret Deodorant Perk too.
Are you on Klout? If so, leave your twitter handle in the comments and I’ll make sure to give you a +K.
