I went to Lowe’s yesterday on my way home from an appointment. I love to peruse their clearance racks for plants because at a minimum they are marked 50% off and often times significantly more than that. These often aren’t plants that you want to purchase to spruce up your landscaping for a party next weekend, but if you are looking for long term perennials and foundation plants and have a little patience until they’ll hit their potential, then you ought to stop by Lowe’s.
The clerk told me they are really trying to clear out their inventory and even discounted a plant that wasn’t on clearance to half off just to encourage me to buy it. There were tons of really great plants on their clearance racks and other plants were drastically reduced also.
- Cherry trees – $10 (originally $25)
- Vegetables $1.50 (originally $6)
- Roses $5 (originally $20)
Of course inventory depends on the location, but I bet you can find some great deals. This is not an advertisement. I am not being compensated in any way to write this post – these are simply great deals I wanted to share with you.
By the way, this is one of the lilies that I bought for $1.50. Not too sprightly and past its season for this year:
But here’s what it will look like next year.
How do I know? I bought this one in similar condition at last year’s Lowe’s clearance sale and now it’s stunning!
